This is a varied role at the heart of our Customer Support function. We’re looking for someone who is organised, accurate, comfortable working with systems and data, and enjoys helping to keep things running smoothly.

Ainscough Crane Hire is the UK's leading crane hire company, operating from locations across the UK and supporting customers with everything from everyday crane hire to complex contract lifts and specialist projects.

Safety is at the heart of our business, underpinned by our Make the Safe Choice ethos. Our success isn't simply about our fleet — it's about the people behind it, working together to deliver for our customers every day.

What will your day look like?

No two days will look exactly the same. You’ll support our Customer Support team with the day-to-day administration that helps us deliver a responsive and professional service to our customers and colleagues.

You’ll prepare customer quotations and rental orders, maintain accurate information within our CRM, help resolve queries and make sure important information gets to the right people.

You’ll also work closely with the management team, helping to produce daily, weekly and monthly reports, preparing presentation and meeting packs, and providing general administrative support.

There will be plenty to keep on top of, so you’ll need to be organised, have a good eye for detail and be happy to get stuck in wherever support is needed.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing administrative support to the Customer Support and management teams.
  • Preparing customer quotations and raising rental orders.
  • Updating and maintaining accurate information within our CRM.
  • Supporting customer and internal query resolution.
  • Identifying and adding potential sales leads for our sales teams to qualify.
  • Producing daily, weekly and monthly management reports.
  • Preparing presentations, meeting packs and other business documents.
  • Supporting CRM data management and data quality.
  • Compiling market and business insight for management review.
  • Maintaining central records and systems.
  • Handling telephone and internal enquiries.
  • Managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Looking for opportunities to simplify and improve routine administration.

What we're looking for

You don't need to know anything about cranes when you join us, we'll teach you that. What matters is that you're organised, comfortable with technology, willing to learn and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative, customer support or similar role.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
  • A good working knowledge of Excel, with the confidence to work with data and support regular reporting.
  • Confidence using PowerPoint and/or Canva to create clear, professional presentations and management packs.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and working across multiple systems.
  • Previous experience using a CRM system.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage several priorities at once.
  • A proactive approach.  If something needs doing, you're happy to get involved.
  • Confidence communicating with colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience working in a busy or time-critical environment would be beneficial.

What success looks like
