Marketing & Communications Executive

Location: Standish, Wigan – fully onsite with travel

We're not looking for someone to simply market our business. We're looking for someone who is excited to become part of it.

At Ainscough Crane Hire, something remarkable happens every day, but some of our best stories are still waiting to be told. From complex lifting solutions and major infrastructure projects to the dedication of our people and our unwavering commitment to safety, there's always something worth showcasing.

We're looking for a creative and commercially aware Marketing & Communications Executive to help bring those stories to life.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll create engaging content, support major events, work alongside operational teams and external partners, strengthen our brand and help ensure the market understands what makes Ainscough the UK's leading lifting solutions company.

No two days are the same.

One day you could be on site capturing content from a major lifting operation. The next you might be coordinating an open day, creating a customer case study, developing a marketing campaign or analysing how recent activity has performed. This is far more thana traditional marketing role. It's an opportunity to gain experience across almost every aspect of modern B2B marketing while working closely with colleagues from across the business and specialist external partners.

If you're someone who enjoys variety, likes getting out into the business, takes pride in producing work of the highest standard and wants to make a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

As our Marketing & Communications Executive, you'll play a key role in strengthening the Ainscough brand and showcasing the expertise of our people across a wide range of marketing activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating engaging content across digital and traditional marketing channels.
  • Producing photography and video content that showcases our people, projects and expertise.
  • Managing and developing our social media presence.
  • Supporting exhibitions, customer open days, sponsorship activities and corporate events.
  • Working alongside external creative, digital and PR partners to deliver high-quality marketing campaigns and materials.
  • Creating customer case studies, project features, news articles and promotional content.
  • Maintaining and developing our brand across presentations, sales literature, merchandise and customer communications.
  • Supporting website content and wider digital marketing activity.
  • Working with colleagues across the business to identify opportunities to showcase the work we do and the expertise that sets us apart.
  • Monitoring marketing activity, customer engagement and campaign performance, using CRM and marketing insights to help evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging marketing trends, AI tools and new technologies that can enhance the way we communicate with customers.

About You

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, creative and commercially aware.

You'll enjoy building relationships, be confident communicating with people at every level of the business and take pride in producing work that reflects the quality of our brand.

You'll probably have:

  • Around two or more years' experience in a marketing role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience creating engaging content across a variety of marketing channels.
  • A strong eye for detail and brand consistency.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence working with colleagues, customers and external partners.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to contribute new ideas.
  • An interest in photography, videography and digital content creation would be advantageous.

Most importantly, you'll enjoy variety, be willing to roll up your sleeves and get involved and be excited by the opportunity to develop your experience across every area of marketing.

Why Ainscough?

You'll become part of a business where you'll experience everything from major infrastructure projects and customer events to brand development, commercial marketing, content creation and communications. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues, collaborate with specialist agencies and gain exposure to almost every discipline within a modern B2B marketing function. You'll have the opportunity to work with people across every part of the business, from operational teams and depot colleagues to senior leaders and external partners, giving you a breadth of experience that's difficult to find in larger, more specialised marketing departments.
