Due to internal progression, Ainscough Crane Hire in Leeds are looking for a Yard Operative to join their successful team, in the coming weeks.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities of a Yard Operative

  • General yard duties
  • Loading / unloading all vehicles
  • Operation of fork lift truck
  • Van driving / delivery duties to customer sites including building sites, power stations and oil refineries.
  • To undertake customer site inductions 
  • Maintain depot lifting tackle stores inventory, organised, booking goods in and out
  • Maintaining lifting equipment certification in line with the stock
  • Working closely with the hire office proactively forecasting customer requirements
  • Embracing our in-house standards of organisation in line with our 5s principles
  • Assist with general workshop activities such as minor checks and vehicle cleaning
  • Completing daily checks of vehicles and brand standard audits
  • Performing depot safety audits (Safe Visit)
  • Undertake other duties that management may reasonably request
  • Working to all relevant Health and Safety Standards

 

Person Specification

 

Education/Knowledge/Experience

  • Flexible approach to working hours (overtime is inherent in our sector)
  • Positive and proactive attitude, understanding the needs of the customer
  • One team approach
  • Punctual

 

Skills/Abilities

 

  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • Fork Lift (preferable)
  • Able to carry out manual handling activities
  • Medical (will be provided)
  • Good basic level of literacy
